Zanaco’s current top scorer, Eliya Mandanji, admits it will be tough to catch Power Dynamos striker Moses Shumah in the Golden Boot race.
Mandanji currently has 10 goals to his name, while leading top scorer Moses Shumah has netted 20 goals in the 2025–26 Zambian Super League campaign.
With only six games left to play before the close of the season, the Zanaco striker feels the gap is too wide to close.
Speaking to BolaNews exclusively, Mandanji said, “The race to winning the golden boot is getting tough every day as every striker is pushing to score more goals for their club in each game that they play. Personally, I have been pushing and fighting hoping I could finish the season with 16 goals.”
“When you look at the current top scorer, he has been scoring in almost every game for his club, and if you look at the difference, it’s huge and keeps increasing in every game played. It’s now becoming difficult to catch up with him,” said Mandanji.
Meanwhile, the Zanaco striker, who joined the bankers at the beginning of the season from Kafue Celtic on loan, has been in fine form, helping the team maintain a place in the top six of the league standings.
Zanaco currently sits in sixth place with 42 points from 26 games played so far.
The bankers will meet Chirundu United in the ABSA Cup over the weekend before facing Red Arrows in the Super League.
