After going two consecutive games without a win, Kansanshi Dynamos picked up a 2-0 over in-form Mufulira Wanderers in a Week 23 fixture in Solwezi on Saturday.
Kizito Keziron’s and Francis Simunika’s own goals sealed the victory for the Mabanga Boys in front of their home supporters.
The victory pushed Kansanshi Dynamos out of the relegation zone to sit in 13th place with 25 points.
Defeat for Mufulira Wanderers meant dropping to 5th with 37 points.
Reacting to the result, Kansanshi Dynamos assistant Coach Dennis Makinka praised his boys for the good performance.
“This is a very important result for us. We are playing Red Arrows on Wednesday and then Power Dynamos. This win gives us confidence going into those matches. For us to move out of the relegation zone, we need to be consistent regardless of who we are playing,” said Makinka.

His counterpart, Lameck Banda, believes Mufulira Wanderers will bounce back stronger.
“The match was okay despite losing. I think it wasn’t that tough; it’s only that we seemed not to be composed, more especially at the back. We panicked a lot, and that resulted in Kansanshi getting the first goal, and also that second goal was more like we scored an own goal from my perspective,” he noted.
Up next for Kansanshi Dynamos, is Red Arrows, who lost 2-1 away at FC MUZA.
“Like I always say, it’s a work in progress, and just little, little things that we need to work on. Obviously we will bounce back by winning. We need to go for a win because we need to make amends for what has happened here,” concluded Banda.
