Nkana is hoping for their second win of the 2024–25 league season when they host Nkwazi in Kitwe on Sunday afternoon.

Last weekend, they defeated Napsa Stars, their first league win at the REIZ Arena.

The home match presents a fantastic chance to pick up three points and cut the margin of league leaders Zesco United (13 points).

With five points from four games, Kalampa is ranked tenth in the standings, while the Aggrey Chiyangi team is two spots behind the Kitwe giants with four points.

Ahead of the match, from 26 previous league meetings, Nkana boasts of winning 11 and drawing nine games. Nkwazi have managed six victories since 2008

About today’s fixture, First Assistant Coach Dennis Makinka declared Kalampa ready to face High Flying Nkwazi, at Nkana Stadium.

“The boys have been working so hard especially that we are motivated after picking up our first maximum points. We are pushing; but again, we do not want to be comfortable after the first victory”

“We are coming up against Nkwazi, who are enjoying a good form, and they just drew against Zesco United at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. They are also motivated because they are coming from drawing with a team which is playing good football,” Makinka noted.

The former Nkwazi cocah added that the confidence within the squad has increased after their away win, over Napsa Stars.

“The last game was a significant boost for us. The way the boys are training and finishing shows that belief is back. We feel capable of playing against any team and securing a win,” he said.

Victory against Nkwazi would push Kalampa to eight points before their upcoming match against Atletico Lusaka in Lusaka
