Nkwazi FC winger Kenneth Kasanga has revealed his intentions to finish the 2024-25 MTN Super League season with at least 10 goals.
The winger has had a stellar season for the Zambia Police-sponsored side, scoring 3 goals and providing eight assists.
His impressive showing this season also earned a call-up to Zambia’s 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) before the tournament was rescheduled to August.
Speaking after scoring his third goal of the season in a 1-all draw against Nkana last Saturday, Kasanga said he still wants to score more goals that will eventually accumulate to at least 11. He attributed his consistent performance in the ongoing season to teamwork.
“I need to score about 10 or 11 goals this season and provide more assists; that’s my target for this season,” Kasanga said.“The team actually has contributed more because we are united, so we put in everything possible, so I’m very excited for the performance.”
The winger has featured in all of Nkwazi’s matches as of Week 22.
Earlier in the season, Nkwazi head coach Aggrey Chiyangi disclosed that the Lusaka-based side was contending to be inside the top four, which would break the record of a fifth-place finish from last season.
Having missed a chance to play the ABSA Cup, Nkwazi can still fight for the league title as they trail log leaders Kabwe Warriors by seven points.
Kasanga’s consistency will come in handy for the Edwin Imboela Stadium-domiciled side.
