Former Chipolopolo Boys midfielder Kelvin Kapumbu is on the verge of joining Green Eagles Football Club as a free agent, BolaNews has learned.
Kapumbu and Konkola Blades mutually agreed to part ways midway through the season, having joined the club at the start of the campaign.
The midfielder signed for Konkola Blades at the beginning of the 2025/26 MTN Super League season from Zanaco.
The former Zambia international defensive midfielder has previously featured for Lumwana Radiants, Zanaco, ZESCO United, and Israel-based Hapoel Petah Tikva.
Kapumbu was recently spotted training with Zanaco and featured in a friendly match against Kafue Celtics, but developments now indicate he is heading to Choma.
A source close to the player has exclusively disclosed to BolaNews that Kapumbu has already travelled to Choma.
“The player has already arrived in Choma and is concluding talks with the Club and will soon be unveiled by the Club. Most of the things have been done, and so far things are in the final stage of the process,” he said.
“His move is in the better interest of the player after he mutually separated with his former club, Konkola Blades,” added the source.
Green Eagles are currently ninth on the table with 19 points from 15 matches.
The Choma-based side will host Red Arrows on Sunday in their next MTN Super League fixture.
