In August, Bolanews revealed that Ronald Kampamba, a Nkana cult hero had retired from football to take up a backroom staff role in the Ian Bakala technical bench.
Kampamba is a Nkana fans’ favourite having come to the fore as an exciting forward in 2009. He helped the club earn promotion to the Super League that season after years in Division One.

At the time of his retirement, Kampamba widely known by his supporters as “Sate Sate” did not have any coaching badges.
Coach Mwenya Chipepo has enticed him back to the field in an attempt to hone the “once upon a time” lethal striker.
Fans have had various reactions to the news of his U-turn; some believe the former Chipolopolo striker has something to offer, while others wish he could have simply continued playing football.

According to Emmanuel Zulu, the chairperson of the Nkana Supporters National Executive Committee (NSNEC), there are differing views among the fans.
“Fans are divided over the comeback of Sate Sate but I trust the coach has seen something in the player,” Zulu said.
“You cannot question Sate Sate’s talent; it is just a matter of working hard. As fans all we want is players that will help us to challenge for the 14th league title,” Zulu said.
In 2010, he made his Super League debut and wasted little time showing everyone what he had when he bagged the Super League golden boot in 2012 and 2013. He has two league titles, four Charity Shields and One ABSA Cup with the club.
