Zambian Super League side Zanaco Football Club’s head coach, Kelvin Kaindu, thinks the return to the league for the second half of the season will be a tough race, but he is confident that his team will prevail despite coming from a disappointment of not making it into the ABSA Cup competition last year.
This Saturday at National Heroes Stadium, the Bankers will play Chambishi FC in a week 18 matchup.
Kaindu has expressed faith in his team and thinks the boys will prevail in the end.
“It’s unfortunate that we failed to make it to the top six for us to qualify for ABSA,” said Kaindu. “But I think in the last 10 games we have been doing well.”
“We have been positive in the way that we have been playing, and our approach has been good. We don’t want to focus on what we did earlier. This is the beginning of the second round, and I think this is where the race is determined,” he concluded.
Kaindu also said that he does not see the need for reinforcements for now, but if a few players are added to the squad, it will be a plus.
“The window is still open; there is the possibility of adding one or two to the team,” he said.
Zanaco are sitting in 7th place in the Super League standings with 25 points from 17 matches and will head into this weekend’s match against 9th-placed Chambishi with an unbeaten run in their last five league matches.
