With ten goals apiece, Power Dynamos striker Titus Chansa and Napsa Stars striker Godfrey Binga are now leading the 2024–25 MTN Super League in the race for the Golden Boot.
The two recently changed teams: Binga was acquired by Napsa Stars from Kabwe Warriors during the January transfer window, while Chansa traded Mutondo Stars for Power Dynamos.
They both scored nine goals for their former clubs but have only scored one goal each since joining their new clubs.
Behind the two pacesetters is Zanaco Football Club Cameroonian striker Ariana Lambert who has scored nine goals for the struggling Lusaka side.
Additionally, Green Eagles and Nkwazi attackers Simon Mulenga and Innocent Kashita have each scored 8 goals, making them close contenders in the race.
During an interview with BolaNews, Power Dynamos striker Chansa, who aims to score 20 goals this season, expressed confidence in achieving this target.
Chansa expresses self-belief and trust in his teammates, believing they can help him reach his goal of 20 for the season.
“I believe in myself, and that’s what will get me there,” Chansa stated. “It’s possible to reach up to 20 goals.”
The striker also weighed in on Power Dynamos’ chances of winning the Super League title, stating, “the competition is good. We just have to be equal to the task as a team and together we shall achieve what we want.”
Following the switch on a loan deal, Chansa stated that he has settled well at the Kitwe giants, adding that the playing style fits his attributes.
“I would say I have settled well considering my type of play, it hasn’t been a challenge to me. I’m happy that I have adapted to the club’s philosophy,” he said.
