Green Eagles Football Club head coach Kebby Hachipuka lamented the strikers’ lack of cutting edge after a 2-1 loss to Mutondo Stars Football Club on Sunday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola in the MTN Super League.

The Choma-based team is now seventh on the log with 30 points, six points behind the log leaders Kabwe Warriors.

Eagles’ second defeat left the coach frustrated.

“We wanted a win. We created some scoring chances. Unfortunately, we showed to bury those chances. And they are the only one and two chances, and they utilized them,” Hachipuka noted.

The former Chipolopolo international added that it is worrisome to lose to a team that is ranked lower than them on the table.

“It’s painful and worrying losing to a team like Mutondo when we are in contention for the league. All the same. We remain focused. It’s not the end of the world. We still have some 14 games to go,” stated.

The coach believes that the only way for Eagles to win again is to take advantage of all created chances and home advantage.

“We need to start collecting maximum points, more especially at home. We’ll keep on working on our strikers so that they can start barring those chances.”

Green Eagles have won one, drawn two, and lost two of their last five matches.

In Week 22 of the Super League, they will face ZESCO United at Choma’s Independence Stadium.

Hachipuka’s team lost 1-0 to ZESCO United in the first round and will be hoping to redeem themselves.
