Francis Mwansa, the goalie for the Chipolopolo boys, says the Green Buffaloes will have a hard time finishing in the top four of the Super League due of their difficult schedule.
With 33 points from 24 games, the Green Buffaloes sit in seventh place on the log. The Nyanta boys have managed to register eight wins, drawn nine times and lost seven games.
Despite having a strong start to the season, Buffaloes have struggled in their past games.
However, as Nkwazi defeated Lumwana Radiants, giving Buffaloes, who were in sixth place in the league standings, an advantage, the army-sponsored team managed to qualify for the 2025 ABSA Cup despite their subpar performance.
On the other hand, Mwansa has managed to keep 7 clean sheets out of the 22 matches played.
Speaking to Bolanews exclusively, the Chipolopolo Boys goalie said the team is fighting and will bounce back stronger.
“I think it’s just a moment otherwise the team is fighting to collect positive results. I believe we shall bounce back stronger,“he said.
“For now it’s impossible for us to finish in the top four of the league standings because the games are becoming tough and our performance has not been good, but for the ABSA Cup am confident we will lift the title because that’s the only Cup we have that we can fight for,”said Mwansa.
“We will bounce back stronger next season, my performance has not been upto the expectations of the fans I think it’s just the moment. I will continue pushing and working hard,” he added.
On Sunday, Green Buffaloes will play second placed, Kabwe Warriors at Edwin Imboela Stadium in a Week 25 fixture.
