Mumamba Numba, the coach of Zanaco, called Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Mutondo Stars at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium “important.”
In a game that came before Zesco United and Forest Rangers’ Ndola derby, the Bankers rallied to defeat Mutondo 2-1.
“A very important victory away from home playing a very determined Mutondo Stars. We played well. This is a game that we had control,” Numba said in a post-match interview.
Moise Kaniki gave the home team the lead in the seventh minute of the first half. Zanaco, who now has 29 points, came back strong in the second half to win the game in the final six minutes.
Brian Kabika scored the equalizer in the 84th minute before Moyela Libamba sealed the win in the 87th minute.
“We showed character coming back and get a victory that has pushed us up on the log.
“It is a very big boost on our part we because we really needed this game for us to survive relegation. I think it will motivate us going i not our next game against Zesco United,”
