Green Eagles FC officially appointed Alex Namazaba as its head coach in December, succeeding Aggrey Chiyangi, who was fired due to poor results.
However, Namazaba has failed to win a single match since taking over as head coach, a situation he has described as “worrying.”
Eagles have gone five games without a win, with three draws and two defeats in the Zambian Super League.
On October 5, 2022, Namazaba took over as interim head coach for the first time, with his first match against the Kabwe Warriors ending in a stalemate. Before being named head coach, he had six wins, three losses, and one draw.
Speaking after his team’s 3-0 loss to Zesco United last weekend, he expressed confidence that his team will return to winning ways but expressed concern about the current situation.
“It is worrying,” he said. “Even when you look at the table, we have dropped to the 11th position now, which is not good. It is worrying.”
“The only thing that we have to do is that we have to keep pushing and start winning games, starting with this Saturday.”
The Choma-based club currently sits in 11th place in the league standings with 29 points and will host the Kansanshi Dynamos at home this weekend.
