Ivorian striker Freddy Michael koublan has joined nine-times Zambian Champions, Zesco United, on a one year deal, after failing to impress at USM Algiers in Algeria.
Eleven months after leaving Green Eagles for Tanzanian powerhouse SC Simba, Koublan returns to the Zambian Premier League.
While, in the Tanzanian league he played 13 matches and scored eight goals.
He scored 14 goals in 18 games during the 2023–24 season with Green Eagles, winning the Zambian Super League Golden Boot Award.
Freddy Michael stated during the unveiling ceremony that he is eager to score more goals and assist the club in reaching its goals.
“I have a lot of work to do and I believe we will achieve great things this season. As you know me, I’m a man of targets and am here to deliver“
“My objective is to score more goals so that I help the team win the league and with the support of everyone I know we will achieve it,”said Freddy.
With 22 points from 11 games, Zesco United is now in second place and just four goals behind first-place Power Dynamos in the league standings.
Zesco United will host Power Dynamos in a week 12 fixture at the Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
