“Confidence is a massive part of success in football. The strength of the team is each member. Together, we achieve great things,” Mandu said.

George Mandu, a midfielder for Red Arrows football club, says the team’s victory in the 2023–24 Zambian Super League was greatly influenced by confidence.

The Army sponsored side won their third Zambian Super League title, a second one in the last three seasons.

Even with his restricted playing time this year, Mandu remains an important member of the Red Arrows team.

The 27-year-old attributes the team’s success to their diligent work during the season. One of the team’s strengths, according to Mandu, is that the players supported one another when they played.

“Confidence is a massive part of success in football,” he said. “The easiest thing a team will ever do is lift the trophy; the hard part is everything before that part. The strength of the team is each member. Together, we achieve great things.”

Red Arrows FC were crowned Champions of the MTN Zambian Super League 2023-24 season.

With just one loss in 2024, the Chisi Mbewe-coached team will enter the CAF Confederation Cup full of confidence, according Mandu, a Chawama product.

“Special acknowledgment to our coaches. The whole Airmen team management… You make our dreams easy to achieve,” he stated.

Mandu, who has been on the books of Arrows since 2019, will be one of the players with experience in continental football, having made five appearances across the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup.
