Newly promoted Mines United goalkeeper Jackson Kakunta says his main goal this season is to earn a Chipolopolo call-up and help his team win promotion to the Super League.
Kakunta joined Mines United at the start of the new season, having been released by Forest Rangers.
In the National Division One league, the former Napsa star shot-stopper has appeared in six matches, keeping five clean sheets and conceding just one goal.
Kakunta signed a short-term contract to play for Mines United until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old keeper lacked playing time at Forest Rangers and decided to join Mines United in search of more.
Speaking to BolaNews exclusively, Kankunta said his main target is to help the team win promotion to the Super League.
“The big thing I want to do is bring the team to the Super key. I also want to work hard so that I can be among the people that will be representing the nation,” he said.
“My motivation is myself. I have always been motivated myself. I have been my own competition so that I would do my best. The support of my teammates has been good .….. And I love the coordination and I just hope we continue with the good work.”
Meanwhile, Mines United will host Chipata United on Saturday as they seek to secure promotion to the Super League.
