FC MUZA striker Biston Banda has spoken about the secret behind his recent impeccable form for the Mazabuka-based side.
Since joining the Mazabuka-based club in January, Banda has scored four goals and four assists in 11 Super League and Absa Cup appearances.
The former Power Dynamos striker has scored in the second round of the 2023–24 Super League season and the 2024 Absa Cup tournament, where MUZA will face Kabwe Warriors in the semi-finals this Saturday in Kitwe.
His most recent goal came against his former team last Sunday, as MUZA defeated the defending champions 3-2 to move into third place with 49 points, one more than Aba Yellow.
Banda on his recent form
In an interview with Bola News, Banda attributed his goal-scoring form to the boost the technical bench has given him since arriving at Nakambala Stadium, highlighting the club’s immense talent.
“It’s the belief, confidence, and understanding the coaches have given me and my team,” Banda said.
“They [the coaches] welcomed me with so much love and respect. We have talented young players; I think these have been the key factors that have helped me settle in well.”
With MUZA in contention for a second appearance in the Absa Cup final and qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup, Banda has emphasized the importance of focusing on the upcoming matches in order to win some silverware this season.
“We are taking it each game one at a time. We all know both the Absa Cup and qualification are important for the club. The coach has been encouraging us to work even harder to be champions; we need to win trophies,” he stated.
Only four games remain before the season’s end, but Banda’s desire for goals remains strong, with a goal of adding at least eight more to his current total.
