In a rescheduled Week 12 fixture against Zesco United on Saturday, Kansanshi Dynamos head coach Mohamed Fathi is targeting a positive result to revive the team’s chances of surviving relegation.
Kansanshi Dynamos have a daunting task to collect full points from Zega Mambo away at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Last weekend, the Mabanga boys played out to a 1-1 stalemate against Green Buffaloes.
Since Fathi’s arrival at Solwezi Independence Stadium, he is yet to register his first win, as he has only managed to collect three points from a possible nine.
Kansanshi Dynamos are currently sitting in the relegation zone with 11 points from 13 matches played so far.
The team have managed to only win one game, draw eight, and lost four matches.
Speaking to the club’s media ahead of the match, Fathi said the team has worked out a better plan for Zesco United.
“We are working hard” – Fathi.
“I think we have a positive result from our away game against Buffalo. After leading, they came back from behind, but for the Zesco game, we have a different plan,” he said.
“We are planning to have a positive result from this game. We are not far from surviving relegation, and I don’t want to talk about surviving relegation because there are a lot of games coming, and the difference is just some goals,” he added.
A win or draw will push Kansanshi Dynamos out from the relegation zone.
“But our target is to go as soon as possible to the war room zone in the log. So the guys are working very hard, and the technical bench is working very hard with me, and I think we are on the right track and ready for this game,” noted the coach.
