With head coach Aggrey Chiyangi joining Green Buffaloes just weeks before the 2025-26 MTN Super League season begins, Nkwazi Football Club is contemplating a drastic change in its technical leadership style.
Information obtained suggest that Chiyangi resigned over WhatsApp before agreeing to a contract with the Green Buffaloes.
The timing and manner of his departure have left Nkwazi in a familiar yet frustrating position—without a head coach heading into a crucial campaign.
In an effort to develop a more dependable and devoted technical bench, the Zambia Police-sponsored team has now started internal talks about elevating coaching personnel from inside the service.
According to information gathered by BolaNews: “Coaches entering Nkwazi when free, only to leave soon after earning notoriety, frequently leaving the team in a bind for replacements“.

“The plan now is to develop and empower technical talent from within the police system—individuals they believe will show long-term commitment to the club’s growth and identity” a source explained.
While Chiyangi’s short stint brought a measure of tactical organization to the side, his abrupt exit has disrupted preseason preparations and forced the club back into crisis management mode.
In contrast, Green Buffaloes, who parted company with Masausto Tembo, will rely on Chiyangi’s knowledge to restructure their team.
