Francis Mwansa, the goalie for Chipolopolo Boys, says he hopes to win the Golden Glove award during the 2025–2026 Zambian Super League season.
The bankers have benefited greatly from Mwansa, who signed a two-year contract with Zanaco at the start of the 2025–26 season after his Green Buffaloes contract expired.
The ex-Green Buffaloes shotstopper has only conceded once and kept three clean sheets in four league matches.
Mwansa’s superb performance has helped Zanaco maintain their unbeaten run in their five matches played so far in the league.
Speaking to Bolanews exclusively, Mwansa hinted that he wants to play Continental football with Zanaco.
“My target with Zanaco is to play CAF; if the league will be difficult, we just have to make sure we play CAF football. Otherwise, this time around I also want to be one of the contenders for the golden gloves at the end of the season. “So far everything is going on well; we are pushing,” said Mwansa.
The former Green Buffaloes shotstopper further noted that he will continue working and be ready for any opportunity that will come his way.
“I will just be working hard for now; if an opportunity from the national team comes, ninshi, it has come; otherwise, the national team opportunity will find me, and I will just keep working hard,” added Mwansa.
Zanaco currently tops the league table with eleven points from five matches played.
On Sunday, the Bankers will take on the Kabwe Warriors, in a Week 6 fixture at Sunset Stadium, in an attempt to prolong their winning streak.
