Shadreck Malambo, a former Red Arrows, Nkana, and Forest Rangers midfielder, is taking a break from playing football.

A Zambia Air Force officer, Malambo played CAF interclub football with Forest Rangers and Nkana Football Club.

In an interview, he expressed his satisfaction at seeing the next generation of players establish themselves in the Elite League.

“For now, I am not active in football. I am taking a step back to think about my next move. But I am really enjoying watching the young players coming up and competing at the highest level. It shows the future of Zambian football is bright,” Malambo said.

The 33-year-old also revealed his plans to continue his football career by becoming a coach.

“Very soon I will start working on my coaching badges because I want to give back to the game that has given me so much. I believe I can help groom the next generation of players and share with them the experience I gained from my years in the league and on the continent,” he explained.

He is the only player in Zambian football history to win the ABSA Cup with three teams: Forest Rangers, Nkana, and Red Arrows.

Malambo further expressed gratitude to the supporters who stood by him throughout his career.
