Aggrey Chiyangi, the head coach of Nkwazi football club, says he hopes to record his second victory of the season when they face Zesco United today.
The two will face off in a rescheduled match this afternoon at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Nkwazi has had a slow start to the season, winning one game against Mutondo Stars. That was followed by a 1-0 loss to Napsa Stars and a 0-0 draw with Atletico Lusaka.
Zesco has won all three of their Super League games, with a 1-0 scoreline against Nkana, Napsa, and Green Eagles.
Chiyangi is aware of their opponent’s current form but believes his boys will take the game seriously.
“We are playing against Zesco and we know that they have won the last three games that they have played, meaning that there is a lot of confidence in the team. When we play them, we are not going to take the game easily; we are going to take this game very seriously,” he told Nkwazi media.
Chiyangi added, “This is the game we have to fight for three points. The team has trained very well from last week until this week. Everyone that we picked to come and play in this game is ready.
“We are improving as a team and also as individual players. Most of the players are pushing very hard and are responding positively to everything that we are doing,” concluded Chiyangi.
A win for the 10th-placed Nkwazi will see them jump into the top four of the league standings, while Zesco will extend their two-point lead atop the table.
