Veteran coach Beston Chambishi says he is pleased that his side, Konkola Blades, has recovered from their winless run in previous matches.

Konkola Blades defeated Mighty Mufulira Wanderers 2-0 in Thursday’s midweek fixture.

After going four games without a win, the Sharp Razor finally returned to winning ways.

The victory moved Konkola Blades up to ninth place with 40 points from 29 matches played so far.

However, speaking in an interview, head coach Beston Chambishi said he is delighted that his team has bounced back to winning form.

“A sweet victory. In the first leg, we lost 2-0 to Mufulira Wanderers, but now we have revenge, 2-0, which is good for us. We needed these points. I am happy with the way the boys have reacted. I think this is a recovery for the game we lost against Nkwazi,” he said. “The team is jelling now.

“We have remained with five games, but five games is 15 points, so we are looking at the points we will collect in these five games; we are not looking at the teams we will play. That’s our aim; we take every game with a different approach,” added Chambishi.

Meanwhile, Konkola Blades will look to maintain their winning momentum as they push to cement their place in the league standings.
