FAZ MTN Super League side Buildcon football club has now played 11 games this season without recording a victory.

Their fans are now afraid the club might emulate the record set by Mufulira Blackpool in 2016 who became the first team in the Zambian League not to win any single match throughout the season.

But Speaking in an exclusive interview with Bolanews, the Ndola based side’s coach Nchimunya Mweetwa said he is confident the team will soon find their winning ways especially since they are already showing progress in the last few games.

Yes, we have played 11 games and we have two points, a record which is not pleasant, Every team wants win and break records in the Positive way and not negative like we have done. but I am happy that now we are not having a lot of mistakes as compared to our earlier games, and obviously that’s progress.

Said Mweetwa.

He also added that he will continue to psych his players and ensure that they go into every game with a positive attitude as they look to make new signings in the January transfer window to reinforce the squad.

When you are losing games like we are, it’s just inevitable that we got to reinforce the team. We will go in the market but unfortunately it’s not easy to get or buy Zambian players because most of the teams couldn’t want to let go of their players, we will have to maybe look outside Zambia and see what we can get.

Mweetwa has also encouraged fans to remain hopeful and cited Red Arrows and Power dynamos as examples of teams to draw inspiration from.

Both the Airmen and Dynamos after week 10 last season were fighting relegation but bounced back and went on to win the league finished 5th respectively.

Buildcon has continued to struggle this season and currently sit rock bottom of the table with two points from 11 games.

Team Kopala will this weekend host Kansanshi Dynamos as they seek to record their first victory of the season in a game that will also see the Solwezi based side’s coach Body Mulwanda return to his former team.
