When it was revealed last week that MTN Super League side Power Dynamos had signed Andy Boyeli from Chambishi F.C, there was palpable excitement from fans.

The prolific Congolese striker arrived at Arthur Davies as a direct replacement for Kennedy Musonda, who left for Yanga F.C.

Boyeli made an immediate impact on his debut against Napsa Stars last Saturday, as he sprayed passes with ease and was involved in the build-up for Dynamos’ winning goal.

He is now being regarded as the answer to the club’s recent goal drought after he assisted Fredrick Mulambia and went on to win the Man of the Match award against Napsa.

The victory helped the Kitwe-based side record their first win of the second half of the season and open a four-point lead at the top of the table.

Boyeli has been in fine form this season and managed to score six goals for Chambishi F.C. in the first half of the season.

Reacting after his debut for Aba Yellow, the striker stated that he was pleased with his performance.

“The game was fine for me; it was the first game, and I’m happy to have won the Man of the Match award.”

Boyeli also expressed confidence that he would be able to score in the next fixture this weekend.

“Obviously, it was the first game for me, and in the next game, I will definitely play well and ensure that I score,” he said.

The Kitwe-based club had been linked with the Congolese forward throughout the transfer window, but their initial attempts to complete the transfer were unsuccessful due to Chambishi’s desire to keep him.

Boyeli a boost to Power’s seventh league title bid

Boyeli is now expected to provide Dynamos with versatility up front, with the forward comfortable playing on the flanks or through the middle.

He appears to be a key component for the league leaders as they seek a seventh league title this season for the first time in 12 years.

They will face another litmus test this weekend when they host an in-form Zesco United at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
