After a difficult first half of the season in which goals were scarce, Napsa Stars head coach Sipho Mumbi has called new signing Godfrey Binga the “missing piece” his team needed.
Speaking ahead of their first match after the mid-season break, Mumbi is excited about Binga making his debut for the Pensioners.
Binga’s impressive form for Kabwe Warriors, where he scored 8 goals in the first round, earned him a move to Lusaka during the January transfer window.
“We are all looking forward to that. I think that was the missing piece in our first half of the season,” said Mumbi.
Napsa Stars will host Atletico Lusaka on Saturday at REIZ Arena in what Mumbi describes as a tough fixture against a well-organized team.
“Very tricky game. The team has been playing very well, Atletico,” he said. “We have prepared adequately for the game. We know what we are going to expect against the team that is technically very good.”
Napsa Stars managed just 13 goals in 18 matches during the first half of the season, highlighting their struggles in front of goal. While Binga’s arrival is expected to boost their attacking options, Mumbi emphasized that success will come from collective effort.
“But it’s not only about him. It’s going to be collective,” Mumbi stated.
