Defender Dieugo Apanane says he is happy to reunite with Mwenya Chipepo at Nkana, a coach he has described as one of the best trainers on the local scene.
Last season, Apanane briefly worked with Chipepo before the latter ditched the Ndola club to join Nkana, whom he managed to help to a third-place finish in the Super League.
Following Forest Rangers’ relegation, Apanane left the Ndola club to rejoin Nkana and reunite with Chipepo.
He told Bolanews in an interview that he is happy to be back at Nkana Stadium.
“He [Chipepo] is one of the best coaches in the Zambian Premier League. I worked with him and realized who he is. He knows how to use a player according to his abilities. He knows how to study a player, where he came from, and was able to discover all my qualities that many others never discovered.
“Now that we are reunited again for me, I think with the help of the management looking at last season’s performance, it’s the league [title that] I want, and Coach Chipepo with his philosophy is not seeing any difficulty,” he said.
Apanane has signed a season-long contract. He says he left Nkana as a boy and has come back as a man.
This will be his second spell at the club, having played at Nkana before between 2016 and 2019.
