“A Bad Result”—Reacts Lubinda After NAPSA’s One-All-Draw Against Arrows

Rally Bwalya’s early strike was NAPSA's first goal in three matches this term, and Lubinda believes sharpening the attack will be key if they are to mount a serious title challenge.

At REIZ Arena on Saturday, NAPSA Stars recorded their second draw of the 2025–26 season after a one-all draw with Red Arrows, the three-time Zambian champions.

Ricky Banda of Arrows equalized eight minutes from time to deny the hosts their first victory of the season after Rally Bwalya gave Napsa the lead in the fourth minute.

And despite a stuttering start that has seen them accumulate just two points from a possible nine, NAPSA Stars Napsa first assistant coach Lawrence Lubinda is adamant that his team has the talent to contend for the MTN Super League title this season.

“Yes, I think if you look at the players we have, we have the quality to compete for the league title,” Lubinda told reporters after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Red Arrows. “We are here this season to compete, not just to participate.”

“A bad result for us,” Lubinda admitted. “We prepared to get maximum points at home, but unfortunately we lost concentration at the time we needed it most.”

One of Napsa’s main concerns has been their lack of goals. Bwalya’s early strike was just their first in three matches this term, and Lubinda believes sharpening the attack will be key if they are to mount a serious title challenge.

“We really need to work on the striking force. We need to be getting goals in games like this,” he said. “For us to be winning games, we need to be scoring at least two goals in each match. It’s not an easy task, but we must improve.”
