Inter Miami reached their first-ever League Cup final five years after being officially licenced as a Football Club, becoming the youngest team in Major League Soccer to do so.

With World Cup winner Lionel Messi once again being the architect in inspiring his team to victory, Inter Miami eased past Philadelphia Union to a 3-0 win on Wednesday.

The Argentine star’s goal and a double from Jodi Alba, sent Miami to the final. They will now face Nashville SC Saturday.

It was Miami’s sixth win in six games since Messi’s debut. They signed the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner from Paris Saint-Germain(PSG) in a deal worth $60 million in wages per season.

The 36-year-old have found the back of the net 9 times in just 6 games, averaging 1.5 goals per game.

Before his arrival, the Club only managed 22 goals in 22 games, going 11 games without a win.

Messi on his new celebration

The Argentine star has also been seen displaying a new style of celebrating his goals, gesticulating like a Marvel superhero. He has since explained his new goal-celebration.

“My three kids are still on vacation, and they haven’t started school yet. So every night we watch Marvel superheroes,” he said in an interview. “They are the ones who came up with the idea and told me that every time I have a game and I score a goal, I celebrate in a Marvel superhero way. This is how the idea started, and we have continued with this habit.”
