A year after the qualifiers ended in November 2023, the dates for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) have finally been revealed.
Defending champions South Africa, Nigeria, Morocco, Zambia, Ghana, Tunisia, Mali, Algeria, Senegal, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Botswana, and Tanzania are the 12 teams that qualified for the tournament.
The tournament ran from July 2 to July 23, 2022, but the Confederation of African Football postponed it this year to avoid conflicting with the 2024 Paris Olympics, which took place from July 25 to August 10.
CAF confirmed on Sunday that the official WAFCON draw will take place at the Mohammed VI Technical Centre in Sale, Morocco, on Friday, November 22, 2024.
The tournament’s 13th edition will now be held in Morocco from July 5–26, 2025.
South Africa’s Banyana Banyana are the defending champions after winning the title in Morocco in 2022.
