South African forward Linda Motlhalo has officially parted ways with NWSL side Racing Louisville after mutually terminating her contract. The 26-year-old, who made only 18 minutes of appearances in 2024, is now back in South Africa and reportedly training with JVW FC.

Racing Louisville confirmed the move on Saturday, stating: “We’ve agreed with Linda Motlhalo to mutually terminate the forward’s contract as she pursues other playing opportunities.”

While the decision was amicable, it hasn’t been well received by many South African fans. On the club’s social media platforms, several supporters expressed their frustration over the limited playing time Motlhalo received.

One fan, @zulu_boi_13, wrote on Instagram, “As I unfollow this group, bye.” Another user, @blagajac1983, criticized the club, saying, “You wasted her time. Joke of a club that only plays favorites. That’s why you’re in a spot where you belong, getting rid of some of the best that came.”

Facebook user Thabang Maliba shared a similar sentiment: “You shouldn’t have brought her in the first place and wasted her time. She was happy in Scotland. May this club continue to struggle to reach the top 5 until they get relegated.”

Trust Trinity Malinga, another fan, added, “She deserved better than this useless club. When I said it, my people thought I was mad. Obviously, we will unfollow. Already did. I mean, when was the last time you won any silver?”

Motlhalo’s brief stint in the NWSL comes to an end as she focuses on new opportunities, with many South African fans hoping she finds success closer to home.
