Red Arrows football club forward Ochumba Oseke Lumbanji is enjoying top form in the FAZ Women’s League.
She is currently the second-top scorer with 20 goals in 21 appearances. This is more than she has ever scored in a single season.
Ochumba has helped her club move into second position in the league, 4 points behind leaders Green Buffaloes.
She told BolaNews in an exclusive interview that this season her target is to score 30 to 35 goals.
Ochumba has also set her eyes on winning the league with Arrows and qualifying for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
“My target this season is to score 30/35 goals, and so far I feel that I will be able to achieve that,” she said.
“I want us to win the league so that we can represent Zambia at continental games. So far we are looking at the points we have, I’m confident that we will be able to finish on top.”
When asked about her lack of goals for the National Team, she stated that she is working hard and hopes to score soon.
“Well, going to the National team especially at the world Cup, I actually hope that I will be able to score goals this time around, not only assisting and playing as a supporting striker.”
“My aim is now to find myself on the scoresheet, and that’s why I am currently scoring goals at my club. I want to practice the art of scoring goals before the world Cup,” Ochumba told BolaNews.
Ochumba dreams of playing for PSG
The Red Arrows forward also revealed that she is working hard to fulfil her dream of playing for French giants, Paris Saint-Germain.
“I’m working so hard at the moment in order to achieve my long-term dream of playing in Europe, more especially for my dream team, which is PSG, but it’s obviously a process, and God willing, I’m hopeful I will be able to play for PSG one day,” she said.
Ochumba is currently competing for the Gorden boot with last season’s winner Xiomara Mapepa of The Elite Ladies FC, who leads the scoring chart with 24 goals, followed by Ochumba with 20 and Green Buffaloes’ Mary Mulenga with 17
