Ngalasa Juliet, a 17-year-old defender for Misisi Queens, is a rising star in Zambia’s women’s football, with dreams of one day turning professional.
Having completed her secondary education and obtained a full Grade 12 certificate, Ngalasa has now decided to fully pursue her passion for football, aiming to become a professional footballer.
She previously trained with Kasanshi Dynamos, Police Doves, and Solwezi Phoenix, where she impressed and eventually caught the attention of Misisi Queens — a prominent Lusaka-based academy known for producing national team players, including Lushomo Mweemba.
“My parents told me to complete school first before I can pursue my football career, which I did. They were against me playing football but now they are okay with me chasing my dream. I am being kept here at Misisi Queens and I am happy. I promised to make them proud one day,” Ngalasa told BolaNews.
Ngalasa also dreams of playing abroad: “I want to play outside Zambia, that’s my dream,” she said.
The young right-back has impressed many football fans who have watched her play. During her short time in Zambezi District, she engaged in community football, quickly earning praise for her skill and talent.
David Zuze, a keen football follower and proprietor of Zambezi Game Laboratory, told BolaNews: “She is very talented and needs to be helped. I will not be surprised to see her becoming a very big player in Zambia soon. Watch her and you will see for yourself. She is an excellent footballer.”
She is just one of many young Zambians now taking football seriously as a career. Ngalasa will be hoping national team selectors notice her talent.
