Meanwhile speaking to FAZ media, midfielder Evarine Katongo has urged her teammates to take the friendly match seriously.

She stated that it will give them a picture of what to expect at the tournament.

“This friendly is not going to be an easy friendly… Because we are going to play with experienced players,” she said. “It will be our first time playing against Ireland. So we will have to take it so seriously because it won’t be an easy game. They are going to give us a hint on how we are going to perform at the World Cup.”

Zambia is in Group C for the World Cup alongside Japan, Costa Rica, and Spain. They will seek to make a historical debut at the showpiece by going past the group stage.

Katongo is confident the team will perform better as everyone is putting in their best.

“Training is going on very well everyone is really working hard and there is much competition during the training sessions.

“The level of training here is a little bit high because this time around we are working towards perfection; the days are already gone. All we want is to prepare very well before we go to the World Cup,” noted the Copper Queens’ midfielder.
