Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club has started getting ready for the Eden University Women’s Super League season in 2025–2026.
In order to win back the league title, they lost the previous season, head coach Charles Haalubono said in an interview that the club has begun light training.
Buffaloes, who finished as runners-up to champions Zesco Ndola Girls, in the previous campaign, are determined to bounce back stronger and return to the summit of Zambian women’s football.
Haalubono explained that last season’s performance did not meet the club’s high standards, emphasizing the importance of starting preparations early to avoid a repeat of their shortcomings.
“Ulubilo lwa mwipi ku bangilila. We didn’t perform well last season, and we want to correct that this coming season,” he said.
He also explained that the team is currently focusing on light sessions before increasing intensity in the coming weeks.
“We have started preparations at a slow note in the meantime,” Haalubono said.
In an attempt to increase the team’s depth and competitiveness, the coach also alluded to plans to bolster the roster before to the start of the new season.
“We expect to reinforce the squad with some new players before the start of the season,” he concluded.
