With the Zambian Women’s Super League nearing an end, Eagles number one and skipper Tonge has set her sights on finishing above the rest in terms of clean sheets kept.
Tonge is destined to mint the golden gloves because Green Buffaloes’ Ngambo Musole who is second has a record of 11 clean sheets.
She secured her 18th clean sheet of the season as the Majestic Eagles of Lusaka secured a 2-0 victory against Indeni Roses in a mid week fixture.
Albert Joel Mphande’s troops are now fifth on log with 60 points, three points above their next opponents Red Arrows Women FC who have a game in hand.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Bolanews,Tonge described the current campaign as productive.
She further added “Our target as a team is to push further up and secure a place in the top four looking at the games remaining and the points we have so far”
Tonge has since credited her teammates and technical bench.
“I can’t do it alone that’s why it’s a team, above all God first in everything.”
While Tonge has received call ups to the provision squads she says representing the national team still remains her dream and if given a chance she would fight for her place because that step would mean a lot to her and her family.
