The Copper Queens who arrived in New Zealand few days ago held their first training session at the Beetham Park in Hamilton on Wednesday night.
Barbara Banda, the captain of the Copper Queens, is anticipated to play a significant role even if her team did not participate in the WAFCON competition. With three goals in three international friendlies, she has displayed remarkable skill.
Speaking to the media, Barbara is optimistic the team will qualify to the finals of the competition.
Barbara has reiterated that the squad is ready to compete after having beaten Germany in the last friendly game.
The copper queens have set a target to progress beyond the group stage.
“Our aim and our target as a team is to move out of the first round and go into the second round and probably go to the Finals,”
And we have received exposure and experience as a result of our European camp, and we aim to improve,” said the skipper.
