ZISD FC is this season ready to challenge Green Buffaloes for the Zambia Women’s Super League title, according to head coach Enala Simbeya.
With two wins, one draw, and one loss, ZISD FC currently sits fourth on the log and it looks like they ready to challenge for the title this season.
Zesco Ndola Girls and Indeni Roses, are joint log leaders after winning all their four opening league matches.
Zesco Ndola Girls defeated Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club 1-0 on Wednesday in Ndola, capping the team’s 36-game winning streak.
Speaking to Bolanews after her team secured their second win of the season against Yasa Queens FC on Wednesday at Lusaka’s Independence Stadium, Simbeya expressed her team’s ambitions: “We are here to grab the first position.”
Coach Simbeya predicts a tough season ahead, with many teams fighting hard to dethrone the dominant Green Buffaloes.
“It’s not going to be easy because teams are really doing well. Everyone is pushing up, but we are one of those teams fighting to get the first position. We also want to play in the CAF competition,” she added.
