Copper Queens’ assistant coach, Enala Phiri, has been appointed as the new head coach of Konkola Blades Queens FC.
Davy Mubita, president of Konkola Blades FC (KBFC), wished her luck as she embarked on her career with the team.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Enala Phiri to the Konkola Blades family as she takes up the role of coaching our queens. Her vision aligns with our long-term goals, and we are confident she is the right leader to guide our team to greater heights,” Mubita said.
Phiri, a CAF-A licensed coach with a successful coaching career under her belt, is now the Senior Zambia Women’s National Soccer Team’s first assistant coach.
After serving as coach of the Under-17 girls in 2006, she became the sole female coach of the Zambia Women’s National Under-23 team.

In addition to managing the NAPSA Stars Women’s teams and Indeni Rosses and Lusaka Dynamos Lady at the club level.
she expressed her enthusiasm for joining the team.
“It is such a great and true honour to join this club as Head Coach. I have watched the girls before and I saw great potential in this team and the club as a whole. The girls look organised and eager to learn. I trust I will not have any problem to have them aligned in my strategic goals,” she said.
She will lead the team from the start of the 2025–2026 season to the 2027–2028 season, according to Konkola Blades Queens FC president Geoffrey Mumba. Phiri will be assisted by former KBFC Physical Trainer, Chipulu Chileya.
She has signed a three-year contract with a target to secure the team’s place in the Eden University Women’s Super-Division. Konkola Blades Queens won promotion to the Super League last season.
