Copper Queens striker Fridah Kabwe put in a brilliant performance on her debut appearance in Zambia’s 5-1 win over Comoros at the ongoing 2023 Cosafa Cup tournament.

Kabwe scored a hat-trick to help Zambia advance to the semi-finals of the competition, where they will meet Zimbabwe in what seems to be the final of the competition.

The Zesco striker will be looking to impress again and earn a place in Bruce Mwape’s team.

She is happy with her performance and hopes to continue with her good form.

“I am very happy to have managed to score three goals against Comoros for the first time playing for the Copper Queens,” she told FAZ media. “It was not easy, but with the help of God, I managed. The tournament is not easy. It’s very tough, but we can make it easy if only we follow the instructions of the coach.”

The 25-year-old striker is confident the team can reach the final.

“I am optimistic we will win [against Zimbabwe] and reach the finals of the competition. I will be very happy if we defend the Cosafa title.”

Zambia will face Zimbabwe in the semifinals on Friday.

They will look to reach the final and attempt to defend the title they won last year.
