Nchanga Rangers Queens striker Ivy Nambeye says her biggest ambition is to play for the Copper Queens and represent her country on the global stage.

Nambeye has been outstanding this season for the Chingola-based club, scoring 18 goals in 19 games. She is currently the team’s leading scorer.

She has been instrumental in her team’s campaign, as they are currently in 12th place with 22 points from 19 games played. They’ve won six, drawn four, and lost nine matches.

Nambeye told BolaNews in an exclusive interview that she wants to play for the Copper Queens and score like her idol, Babra Banda.

“My dream is to become like Babra Banda the same way she scores; now that we are playing in the Premier League for women, people have gotten to know that there is Ivy. Now that I am known, I would like to play for the national team and also go abroad,” said Nambeye.

Nambeye says her biggest motivation has been the technical bench and her teammates.

“Following the instructions of the coach on how to stand on the pitch…. And also the support from my teammates has been good from day one.

“I would love to play in the following countries: Spain, England and America. With hard work and determination, I know I will play abroad one day and represent my country,” noted Nambeye.

With the Women’s National League resuming this weekend, Nambeye hopes to maintain her good form.
