Kundananji will use her role to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and help to reduce stigma and discrimination surrounding the disease.

In her acceptance speech, Kundananji recognized the adverse effects the epidemic has had on the Zambian youths.

She has committed to supporting those affected by the virus through education and advocacy.

“I come from a developing country in Zambia that has many people—especially youths—experiencing challenges in overcoming obstacles posed by HIV/AIDS,” said Kundananji.

“Kundananji Deserves It” – Potter.

Bay FC Sporting Director Matt Potter said Kundananji deserves the role.

“Racheal couldn’t be more deserving of the UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassadorship as someone who brings constant positivity and a relentless energy to improve herself on and off the pitch,” Potter said.

She has joined a host of global stars in the ambassadorship role conferred by UNAIDS.

American billionaire Kenneth Cole, well-known fashion designer Victoria Beckham, and current South Korean head coach Myung-Bo Hong are other figures.

Others are former Ivory Coast striker Gervinho, who is the UNAIDS Special Ambassador for Youth.
