Prisca Chilufya has emerged as one of the deadliest forwards in the Mexican women’s topflight, according to statistics revealed by Liga MX Femenil in the aftermath of the 2023–24 regular season.

The Zambian winger, 24 has enjoyed a stellar debut campaign with Mexican club Juárez FC (colloquially known as Las Bravas).

She joined Las Bravas in the summer of 2023, following a short stint in Turkey with Fatih Karagumruk A.S.

Prisca has settled well scoring 10 goals in 30 appearances during the 2023–24 season and making a handful of assists.

The Copper Queens star was on target against the 2023 Torneo Apertura champions, UANL Tigres, who defeated Juàrez 2-1 on aggregate in the playoff quarterfinals this month.

Chilufya has become a fan favorite in Juárez, with supporters tagging her as unplayable due to her speed and skill. Liga MX Femenil’s statistics provide additional validation for these claims.

Prisca’s 41 successful take-ons in the 2024 Torneo Clausura place her among the top three dribblers in Liga MX Femenil, according to the league’s records.

Her ability to glide past defenders could be a valuable asset for the Copper Queens attack going into major tournaments. As Rachael Nachula’s career nears its end, Prisca Chilufya emerges as the one to watch for the future.

Fans want a consistent player to join Barbra and Rachael, forming a formidable attacking trio that could dominate women’s football.

Prisca could prove to be very handy for Zambia in multiple tactical set-ups. Her ability to carry the ball and dribble past opponents could reduce Zambia’s overreliance on the long-ball approach.

She displayed her brilliance in the first leg of the Olympics qualifier against Morocco, despite missing a penalty kick.

In the second leg, she provided an assist to Banda’s goal as Zambia overturned a 2-1 deficit to win 3-2 on aggregate.

With Barbara Banda, Rachael Kundananji, and Prisca Chilufya, the women’s national team can have an attacking trio.
