Prior to the 2023 FIFA world cup, which begins next month, the Copper Queens announced last week that Lisa Cole, a former member of the Fiji Women’s National Team, would serve as their technical advisor.
The Copper Queens are now in Germany getting ready for their first world cup campaign, where they have games against Germany, Switzerland, and Ireland on the schedule.
Cole has also referred to the three friendlies as crucial contests that would aid the technical bench in selecting a final team from the 35-member Provincial squad now training for the World Cup.
“We are still working through selections so they are an opportunity for players to prove that they should be in the team, that’s the first thing, secondly it will give us ideas on how to become more structured as a unit and creative,” she said in an interview with FAZ media.
Cole says Copper queens defense undergoing a fix.
Cole continued by saying that the technical bench is presently concentrating on strengthening the team’s defense.
