Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique threw a playful jab at the English Premier League after his team secured a coveted spot in the Champions League final.
The French champions’ 3-1 aggregate victory over Arsenal in the semifinals marked a clean sweep for PSG against Premier League opposition this season.
Having edged out Arsenal 1-0 in the first leg at the Emirates, PSG completed the job on home turf at the Parc des Princes, with goals from Fabián Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi sealing their passage to the final. Bukayo Saka’s late consolation goal for the Gunners proved to be just that.

Fresh from clinching the Ligue 1 title last month, PSG now have their sights set on a historic treble. They are due to face Reims in the Coupe de France final on May 24th, followed by a mouthwatering Champions League final showdown against Inter Milan in Munich a week later.
“The league of farmers, no? We are the league of farmers,” Enrique told TNT Sports.
He continued, “But it’s nice. We are enjoying the result and the compliments of everybody speaking of our team – our mentality, how we play. It’s nice.”
‘Arsenal didn’t deserve to win’ – Enrique
While acknowledging his friendship with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, Enrique firmly disagreed with any suggestion that the Gunners deserved to progress.
“Mikel Arteta is a great friend, but I don’t agree at all [that Arsenal deserved to win]. They play the way they want and love to play, but in the two legs, we scored more goals than them and that is the most important thing.”
“It means a lot. Everybody was dreaming with getting to a Champions League final and our first goal when we arrived in Paris was to make history and we are on the right path.”
With Inter Milan eliminating Barcelona in the semifinal, Enrique anticipates a challenging encounter.
“Inter are more experienced than us, older players, but we want to win trophies and we will have that mentality for the final.”
