Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen scored on Tuesday night for the eighth consecutive time, breaking a record he set on Friday against Sassuolo in the Italian Serie-A.
Osimhen scored in the Champions League round of 16 against Eintracht Frankfurt to help Napoli secure a 2-0 away win in their first-leg tie.
It was the Super Eagles striker’s 20th goal in 24 appearances this season for Napoli, also including seven consecutive goals in Serie A, a feat only he has achieved in the history of the Italian club.
Osimhen’s goal last night was also his 10th in his last eight appearances across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo scored the second goal in the 65th minute to seal the victory for the visitors, who are now one foot into the quarterfinals.
In the other Champions League round of 16 tie, on the same night, Real Madrid came from a 2-0 deficit to thump Liverpool 2-5 at Anfield.
