Manchester City may have suffered their seventh defeat in 10 matches but their manager Pep Guardiola has put up a brave face.
Last night, City suffered a 2 – 0 away defeat to Italian giants Juventus, a result that has left the former Champions on the brink of Champions League elimination.
It continues City’s poor run of play over the last ten games across all competitions.
After the game, the Spaniard hailed his team stating they played ‘really good’ and that he was ‘so proud of these players.’
“We played really, really good,” Guardiola is quoted by TNT Sports,
“We missed the last action, some transition happens, but I am so proud of these players. They gave everything and we tried. It is difficult in Europe. We played really good.”
Guadiola’s side sits 22nd in the new format Champions League with eight points, just one above the elimination slot
His focus will now turn to Sunday’s Manchester derby at the Etihad where he will be hoping not to lose further ground on Liverpool.
In the Premier League, City have 27 points, eight behind the Merseyside team.
