Chelsea sealed the victory in the 73rd minute when Liam Delap tapped in a simple finish after Chelsea once again exploited the exposed high line. The win was capped by a rare clean sheet, with Chelsea becoming the first team in 53 matches to prevent Barcelona from scoring.
The result lifts Chelsea to fifth in the league phase, putting them in a strong position to qualify automatically for the knockout rounds.
