Bayern continued their perfect start to the Champions League campaign with a 5-0 victory over Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday night.
A victory for the German outfit headed by Julian Nagelsmann was never in doubt after beating the likes of Inter and Barcelona prior to Tuesday night’s showdown in group C.
Bayern’s opponents were given a tough draw against three giants of European football and the results are a reflection of the superiority of their opponents. It would take a footballing miracle to make it out alive in the group or even drop to the Second tier of European football by finishing third.
They were crushed 5-1 in their opening match of the competition by Barcelona before losing 2-0 at the hands of Inter last time out.
The Czech side may have started on a bright spot but Bayern opened the scoring in under 10 minutes as Sané was afforded far too much space and time after combining with Musiala as he sent a ferocious strike past Tvrdon.
Bayern were just getting started as they grabbed their second after a swift counter which ended with Gnabry finishing clinically after receiving a pass from Goretzka in the box.
The Germans continued their quest for another and they would soon get their reward as former Liverpool man Sadio Manè got his name on the scoresheet with a well-timed finish in the bottom-left corner.
The Senegalese International found space between two defenders before receiving a deflected pass off N’diaye. He pounces on the loose ball but still had a lot to do but he held his composure to smash a left-footed strike home, Mane opened his Champions League account this season.
After 45 minutes the men in red just continued where they left off, as Sane scored their fourth of the game to pour on the agony for Plzen as Sane took a near first touch before burying a strike past Tvrdon. The move started when Mane looped a long ball over the top for Sane that he takes in stride before firing into the back of the net on his left foot. All too easy for the hosts.
The game ended 5-0 as Choupo-Moting got his name on the scoresheet in the 59 minute, their was little the way team could do to weather the storm as their was no hope for a spirited at the Allianz Arena.
