With 20 games remaining in the Serie A season, Juventus was in third place. However, after receiving a 15-point deduction from an Italian football tribunal, they are presently in tenth place.

Andrea Agnelli, current chairman of Tottenham Hotspur and former chairman of Juventus, was also sentenced to a 30-month suspension.

“The federal Court of Appeal, presided over by Mario Luigi Torsello has partially accepted the appeal of the federal Prosecutor’s office. Sanctioning Juventus with 15 Serie A penalty points to be served in the current football season and with a series of inhibitions for 11 Juventus executives (30 months for Paratici, 24 months for Agnelli and (Maurizio) Arrivabene, 16 months for (Federico) Cherubini, eight months for Nedved, (Paolo) Garimberti, (Enrico) Vellano, (Assia) Venier, (Caitlin) Hughes, (Daniela) Marilungo and (Francesco) Roncaglio),” the statement read.

Once the reasons for the decision are published, Juventus has declared that it will file an appeal with the nation’s sports guarantee body.

Lawyers representing the club released a statement. In which they said, “We consider this to be a blatant injustice also for millions of fans. Which we trust will soon be remedied in the next court,” lawyers for the club said in a statement.”

Juventus has also denied wrongdoing and stated that its accounting complied with industry norms.
