Al-Fayha FC boss Vuk Rasovic believes his side will have put in a miraculous display to get the better of Al Nassr in the AFC Champions League tonight.
The Burtuqali are trailing the Riyadh-based outfit 1-0 from the last 16 first leg last Wednesday. Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo scored a late winner in the first leg.
Al Nassr will host Sakala’s side in the return fixture at Al-Awwl Park in Riyadh. Al Fayha faces the daunting task of beating the second placed Saudi Pro League side in front of their home crowd for the Burtuqali to stand any chance of qualifying.
Al-Fayha’s coach, Vuk Rasovic, explained what his side needed to defeat Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr and make the ACL quarterfinals.
The Serbian gaffer said, “In tomorrow (tonight’s) match, Al-Nassr has the advantage due to the result of the first leg, in addition to the technically distinguished elements it possesses. So, Al-Nassr remains the favourite.”
“We came here to achieve a miracle, and we have to think more about the solutions we have. We will give everything we have.”
However, he urged his side not to be fazed by the quality and squad depth of Al Nassr, adding, “We certainly did not come here to lose. We will fight, and this is what I can promise as a coach to the team.”
“There is nothing impossible, and we will work to achieve it. We know how difficult the match is.”
If Al-Fayha can produce an upset against Ronaldo’s side, they will make the ACL quarterfinals in their first season in the competition.
